Georgia ”Dot” Carolla (Bauman) Berchtold, age 89, formerly of Delano, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019, at Golden Horizon Assisted Living.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Delano.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association would be preferred in lieu of flowers.

Georgia was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Delano, to George and Theresa (Muckenhirn) Bauman.
She graduated from Delano High School, and continued her education at the Minneapolis Business College.
Georgia went on to work at JCPenny in Minneapolis, and along the way, met her husband, Lowell Berchtold. In 1951, Georgia and Lowell united in marriage and started their life together in Minneapolis.
Georgia worked as a florist, owned her own business, and was a homemaker while she raised her family through the years. She had lived in Minnetonka, Plymouth, and Sandstone.
While living in the Cities, Georgia was very active at St. Mary’s of the Lake, and St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, serving on many parish committees.
Georgia loved baking, playing and hosting bridge parties, teaching her children to swim in Lake Minnetonka, organizing family tennis tournaments, and traveling during retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Lowell; her brothers, Ralph, Frances, and Bill; her sister, Mary Boisvert; brothers-in-law Jim Lundsten, Art Boisvert, Dick Merriman, and Danny Armendariz; and sisters-in-law Frances Berchtold, Ruth Bauman, and Dorothy Bauman.
Georgia is survived by her son, Mark (Susan) Berchtold; her daughters, Jeanne Asleson, and Jennie (Shane) Seibert; sisters Ann Lundsten, Barbara Merriman, Edith Moran, and Lucy Ronan; grandchildren Shane Asleson, Scott (Andrea) Asleson, Jeremy (Lindsey) Asleson, Mary Berchtold, Claire Berchtold, Jacob Seibert, Jamison Seibert, and Sofia Seibert; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Toots Armendariz; and brother-in-law James Ronan.
