Gale June Evenski, age 82, of Howard Lake, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, surrounded by her family.
A private family graveside service will take place Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Cokato City Cemetery in Cokato. A celebration of life for friends and relatives will follow the interment at Gale and Bob’s home in Howard Lake, beginning at 1 p.m.
Gale was born Friday, April 24, 1936, in Annandale, the daughter of Ernest and Helen (Groves) Hendrickson.
She was united in marriage to Orvin Stephen Evenski Oct. 21, 1958, at Annandale Evangelical Free Church. Their marriage was blessed with three loving children; Deborah G. (Gerry) Harden, Stephen (Norma) Evenski, and Jeffrey (Toni Mills) Evenski.
After the death of her spouse, Gale reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Bob Bates, and they were married in 2006.
Gale enjoyed cooking and dancing; and always lived life to the fullest.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Gale is survived by her husband, Bob Bates; her children; grandchildren Shaun (Emily) James, Shane (Amy) James, Lauren Evenski, Bret Evenski, Alex Evenski, Andrew “Andy” Evenski, and Maggie Evenski; five great-grandchildren; sisters Bonnie (Brad) Hayes, Betty Smith and Jackie Hendrickson; and other relatives and friends.
