Norman D. Gulso, age 84, of Cokato, passed away at his home Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019.
He was born April 19, 1935, in Howard Lake, to Louis and Leona (Krohn) Gulso.
Norman was baptized May 19, 1935, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, and confirmed in his faith at the same church April 27, 1996. His confirmation verse was I John 4:16: “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
Norman grew up on the family farm southwest of Howard Lake, and spent the last 16 years in the care of Mykkanen Homes of Cokato.
He worked at Functional Industries doing many different tasks.
Norman enjoyed gardening and flowers, old movies (The Three Stooges and westerns), and liked to tease and crack jokes. He collected pens and hats, and did paper work.
Norman is survived by his brother, Stanley Gulso of Buffalo; sister Jeanette (James) Barrett of Alexandria; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Leona.
The funeral service took place Thursday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with visitation at the church beginning at 1 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be in the spring at Howard Lake Cemetery.
