Sharon Gundersen, 59

Sharon Lynn Gundersen, age 59, of Delano, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019, at The Estates in Delano, surrounded by her family, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Instead of a traditional burial, Sharon donated her body to the University of Minnesota for medical research. A memorial will take place Friday, March 29 at 5 p.m. at Stahlke Bus Service in Delano.

Sharon was born Sept. 23, 1959, in Minneapolis, to O. Richard Gundersen and Delores Milton.

Sharon loved her job at Stahlke Bus Service, where she worked for over 20 years. One of her favorite places was behind the wheel of her bus, driving school children.

When she wasn’t in her bus, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren; she especially enjoyed crafting and reading with them.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, O. Richard Gundersen.

She is survived by her mother, Delores Milton; siblings Karen (Dave) Opsahl, Nancy (Dale) Hasledalen, Diane Olcott, Richard Gundersen, Charlene (Brian) Hennen, and Charles Rasmussen; her children: Jessica (Josh) Gundersen, and Rebecca (Shane) Anderson; grandchildren Anya Anderson and Tristan Anderson; and many other loving family and friends.
