Carolyn C. Haan Obituary – 9/23/2019


Carolyn Cecelia Haan, age 78, of Delano, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at home, with her daughters by her side.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano. There will be a gathering of family and friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church, with a 9:45 a.m. Rosary. Inurnment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Carolyn was born Aug. 29, 1941, in Kinmundy, IL, to Raymond and Loretta (Stock) Sigrist.

She married Paul Joseph Haan July 28, 1962, in Kinmundy, IL. They moved to Minnesota in 1966.

Carolyn worked many years at Control Data in Bloomington, and then at Emplast in Chaska. Upon retirement, she and Paul enjoyed traveling.

Carolyn also enjoyed doing arts and crafts, spending time with her family, and spending time outside in her yard; if not gardening, then watching the birds. Carolyn loved watching baseball; she avidly followed the Twins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul; parents Raymond and Loretta Sigrist; sisters Patricia Theiwes and Mary Jo Sigrist; brother Harold Sigrist; and brothers-in-law Eugene Theiwes and Clifford Mack.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Kryn (Tom) Forsberg, Lynn Haan, and Amanda Haan; grandchildren Christopher Sifferle, Kristina Forsberg, and Katelyn Anderson; great-grandson Dylan Olson; sisters Elizabeth Mack, and Helen (Willis) Bergmann; brothers Donald (Linda) Sigrist, and Louis (Mary Kay) Sigrist; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
