Joseph Albert Hoffman (“Bang Bang”), age 57, of Montgomery, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at Hennepin County Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones.
There will be visitation Saturday, Feb. 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with a service following at 11 a.m. with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area honor guard.

Joe was born Aug. 22, 1961, in Buffalo, to John and Mary (Kalway) Hoffman. He was baptized in the Catholic faith, and was raised and graduated in Rockford.
Joe worked at Le Center Crane, Selly Construction, and Proto Lab in Plymouth as a technician tech.
He enjoyed playing cards, driving his motorcycle, and visiting with friends; and was known for his one-liners.
Joe is survived by his special loving friend, Kitty McGuigan of Montgomery; Kitty’s daughters, Jenny and Kim; siblings Elizabeth (Andy) Anderson of Monticello, Barbara (Gary) McDanial of Victoria, Irene (Bob) Kutz of Winsted, Jackie Bauer of Monticello, Mary (Doug) Pawelk of Winsted, John (Jody) Hoffman Jr., of Mora, Sandra (Matt) Stifter of Howard Lake, James (Julie) Hoffman of Otsego, Patricia Hessler (friend Patrick) and Paula Funke (friend Guillermo) of Apache Junction, AZ; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
