Sidora M. Koch, 90

Sidora Martha (Fiecke) Koch, age 90, of Cokato, formerly of Winsted, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 24, 2019, at Brookridge Assisted Living in Cokato.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Concelebrants will be Father Tony Stubeda and Father Paul Schumacher. Lavon Kielkucki will be the organist. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

There will be visitation Thursday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a CCW and Holy Family Rosary at 4:30 p.m., and parish prayers at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday morning at the church, one hour prior to the Mass.

Honorary casket bearers are Beth Keith, Melissa Johnson, and Christine Johnson.

Casket bearers are Josh Koch, Adam Koch, Jared Koch, Jacob Koch, Kyle Koch, Todd Koch, Aaron Wendolek, and Eric Wendolek.

Sidora was born June 7, 1928, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the daughter of John A. and Clara (Sterner) Fiecke.

She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1946, and then attended the College of St. Benedict and St. Cloud School of Nursing, graduating in 1950.

Sidora and Clinton H. Koch were joined in Holy Marriage April 26, 1952, at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six children: John, Ronald, Carol, Betty, Jerry, and Diane.

After graduating nursing school, as a registered nurse, Sidora was employed at Glencoe Hospital. Once married, she left nursing to raise the family and help her husband on the farm.

Later in life, she went back to nursing at the Alice Haney Home in Lester Prairie, and the Howard Lake Care Center.

A faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Sidora was a member of CCW, Holy Family Catholic United Financial, St. Anne’s Society, Winsted American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary, and an avid quilter with the Holy Trinity Church ladies.

She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, dancing, playing cards, fishing, quilting, and watching her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

Sidora is survived by her loving children: John (Cari Schuette) Koch, Carol (Mark) Wendolek, Betty (Mark) Johnson, Jerry (Janice) Koch, and Diane (Brian Strandberg) Koch; grandchildren Josh (Cori) Koch, Adam (Beth) Koch, Jacob Koch, Jared (Jill Wackler) Koch, Kyle (Melissa) Koch, Todd (Ashley) Koch, Beth (Jordan Ortquist) Keith, Aaron (Natasha) Wendolek, Eric (Patty Hemerick) Wendolek, Melissa Johnson, and Christine Johnson; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth Kutz, Taygen Koch, Lily and Tanner Koch, Clinton Koch, Alexis and Alaina Koch, Caleb Keith, Issabelle and Mackenzie Wendolek, and Chance Johnson.

She is further survived by sisters-in-law Alberta (Virgil deceased) Fiecke of Paynesville, and Shirley (Marvin deceased) Fiecke of Winsted; and other relatives and friends.

Sidora was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton H. Koch, in 1983; a son, Ronald Koch, in 2000; her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law Rosella and Lambert Hertzog, Marietta and Tom Fasching, and Annella and Ray Hoffman; and brothers and a sister-in-law, Lawrence and Alvina Fiecke, Virgil Fiecke, and Marvin Fiecke.
