Judy Ann Larson, age 69, of Cokato, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. Laurie O’Shea officiating.
Prior to the service, there will be a time to gather with the family, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the memorial arrangements.
Judy was born May 23, 1949, in Litchfield, the daughter if James and Gladys (Lindgren) Barrick. She grew up in Dassel, and graduated from the Dassel High School in 1967.
Judy was baptized Oct. 29, 1949, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Darwin, and confirmed June 7, 1964, at the First Lutheran Church in Dassel. She was presently a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel.
Judy was united in marriage to Milton Larson Jan. 14, 1970, at the First Lutheran Church in Dassel. The couple made their home on the shores of Lake Stella until 1973, when they moved to Watkins.
In 1982, Judy and Milton moved to rural Cokato, where they have since resided. They celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Judy was employed at Nortronics in Dassel, Fabritec in Cokato, HTI in Hutchinson, and most recently was the substitute “lunch lady” at Cokato Elementary School.
She enjoyed spending time doing crafts, gardening, and traveling with her mother and family. They continued that tradition after the death of her mother.
Judy loved her horses and particularly loved her paint, “Tucker.” She shared a love of classical cars with her husband and sister, and especially enjoyed her 1967 Ford Mustang.
She was always a caregiver, having taken care of her mother for many years. Judy was always there for her family, and always had a spot in her heart for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband, Milton, of Cokato; three children, Jessica of Hubbard, Mitchell (Jennie) of Braham, and Jackie of Maple Lake; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeannie Tessmer of Hutchinson, Jocelyn (Brad) Larson of Lexington, NE, and Jennifer (Gail) Plaisance of Buffalo Lake; sisters-in-law Joyce Barrick of Hutchinson, and Nina Barrick of Litchfield; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Barrick and Gladys Barrick Carlen; two brothers, James Barrick and Jerald Barrick; and a brother-in-law, Neal Tessmer.
