Roger A. Weege, 76

Roger Allen Weege, age 76, of rural Montrose, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Buffalo, the son of Edwin and Virginia (Batdorf) Weege.

Roger graduated from Buffalo High School in 1960.

He and Deloria I. Goeb were joined in holy marriage Nov. 14, 1964, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Through the years, Roger’s places of employment were: International Paper Company, Mattson Bus Garage, Walmart, Zion Lutheran Church, and other various jobs.

He was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, and formerly served as a head usher. Roger also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 6608.

He enjoyed fishing with his brother, hanging out with the neighbors and his brother in his garage, playing with his great-grandchildren, and singing “You are my sunshine.”

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Deloria; children: Lisa Nordling, Betty (Jon) LaRoque, Jim (RoxAnne) Weege, and Scott Weege and significant other Jodi; eight grandchildren: Travis (Tricia) Nordling, Zach (Shanna) Nordling, Chelsie Weege, Brad Weege, Josh Weege, Ashley LaRoque, Caitlin Weege and Walker Weege; and five great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by siblings Kenny (Bonnie) Weege, Larry (Karen) Weege, Sandy (Gerhardt) Kottke, Barb (Dave) Yeager, Pat Weege, Darvin (Darcee) Weege, and Robin Kolterman; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister, Cheryl Morrissette.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, followed by interment at St. Francis Cemetery.

There was visitation Friday at the church from 9 a.m. to the time of the Mass.

Honorary casket bearers were Chelsie Weege, Caitlin Weege, Ashley LaRoque, Mitch Weege, and Jeff Weege.

Casket bearers were Travis Nordling, Zach Nordling, Brad Weege, Josh Weege, Walker Weege, and Bret Yeager.
