Ann Bollman, 86

Ann Marie (Anderson) Bollman, age 86, of Dassel, died June 5, 2022, at her residence.

A memorial service took place Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel, with Rev. Janine Olson officiating.

The family gathered Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

There was one hour time to gather prior to the service on Wednesday at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel.

Ann Marie Anderson was born December 27, 1935, to Marvin and Lucille (Nelson) Anderson. Ann was baptized in Litchfield, MN, at her godmother’s home and confirmed at Litchfield Lutheran Church.

Marvin and Lucille moved their family to Dassel in 1950 when Marvin bought a farm north of Dassel.

Ann graduated from Dassel High School in 1954.

Ann worked for Ralph Peterson at Peterson Pharmacy in Dassel after graduation.

She married Gerald (Jerry) Bollman March 4, 1956. Together, she and Jerry raised three children – Keith, Kurt, and Sara – and lived on 1st Street in Dassel for 48 years.

Ann worked at home for many years, helped Jerry with the books for his Standard Oil business, and helped at the filling station they owned for a short time.

In 1979, Ann began working for Dassel Lakeside Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. She transitioned to Activities Director, where she worked until her retirement in 2001.

Ann served her church and community in many ways. She volunteered on the Red Rooster Queen’s committee, served on the Red Rooster serving line for many years, volunteered at the nursing home after retirement, and was part of the Dassel Fire Dept. Auxiliary, taught Sunday School and worked on many church committees over the years.

In her later years, she volunteered at the Dassel History Center and worked on the events committee, where she made dozens of treats for many groups.

Ann and Jerry helped start the Cookie Brigade for Gethsemane’s military friends after her grandson, Alex, went to Iraq.

We couldn’t begin to count the number of cookies, breads, and cakes Mom has made over the years; those cookies and other treats were always wrapped in love and followed by good conversation.

Mom’s dining room table was always set, and baked goods were ready to welcome others into her home. She entertained many guests, but her favorite was always her grandchildren. She loved talking with them and attending their events.

Those who volunteered with Ann knew all about her children and grandchildren, as she loved sharing about them.

It’s time to rest, Mom. We love you, and we will miss you deeply.

Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Jerry, her parents, Marvin and Lucille, and her brother, David Anderson.

She is survived by her three children, Keith (Kim) Bollman of Hutchinson, Kurt (Barbara) Bollman of Fargo, and Sara (Greg) Nelson of Dassel; her grandchildren Rochelle (Scott) Ament, Ryan Bollman (Kristi Verbraken), Alex (Megan) Bollman, Sam (Kayla) Bollman, Isaac (Amanda) Nelson, Luke Nelson (Ashley Warren), and Sydney Nelson; her great-grandchildren Paxton and Bridger (Rochelle’s), Harper (Ryan’s), Carson, Bennett, and Everett (Alex’s), and Isaiah, Isabella, and Adelyn (Sam’s); and, her brother Ron (Barb) Anderson.
