Edward Brabec Obituary – 12/8/2022


Edward Raymond Brabec, 78, of rural Howard Lake, MN, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022 at The Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, MN.

He was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Woodland Township, Wright County, MN, the son of Raymond W. and Irene C. (Broll) Brabec.

Edward R. Brabec and Dorothy R. Vetsch were joined in holy marriage May 16, 1970, at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Albertville, MN. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Ed was formerly employed for 28 years at Munson Lakes Nutrition.

He enjoyed playing cards, the bowling group, deer hunting, and the out of doors. He loved fixing things.

He was a faithful, lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, MN, and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his loving children, Karen (Bernie) Lueck of Howard Lake, Dan Brabec of Waverly, and Scott (Angie) Brabec of Howard Lake; grandchildren, Anthony, Amelia, and Samuel Lueck; Zach Fern, Lauren (Collin) Booth, and Erin Brabec; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy R. Brabec, May 9, 2004; granddaughter, Emily E. Brabec; his parents; and sister, Darlene A. Eckelberry.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Brabec will take place Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Father Kenneth O’Hotto will be the celebrant.

Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery in rural Waverly.

A visitation will take place Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. A prayer service will take place at 7 p.m. Further visitation at the church will take place Thursday morning, Dec. 22, one hour prior to Mass.

Casket bearers will be Anthony Lueck, Amelia Lueck, Samuel Lueck, Zach Fern, Lauren Booth, Collin Booth, Erin Brabec, and Craig Maas.
