Edward Leuthner, 90

Edward J. Leuthner, age 90, of Menomonie, WI and formerly St. Cloud, MN passed away on May 24, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie.

Ed was born on September 8, 1931, in St. Bonifacius, MN, to Dominic and Clara Leuthner and grew up in Delano, MN. Edward J. Leuthner, age 90, of Menomonie, WI, and formerly St. Cloud, MN, passed away May 24, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie.

Ed was born September 8, 1931, in St. Bonifacius, MN, to Dominic and Clara Leuthner and grew up in Delano, MN.

He married Dorothy Klinkhammer June 18, 1955, in Cogswell, ND. They enjoyed 58 years of blissful marriage until her passing in 2013.

Ed was a Navy pilot before becoming a high school teacher, coach, and later a school administrator. He and Dorothy raised their children in St. Cloud, MN, where they made many great friends and memories.

Ed was a man of faith, and he treasured time spent with his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Grandpa’s homemade bread and buns were always a highlight at family gatherings. Ed thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie and serenity of time spent on the water fishing.

Ed is survived by his children, Mark (Debbie) Leuthner, Mary Kay (Bill) Kryshak, Kathy Leuthner, Connie (Mike) Ricci, and Tom (Sandy) Leuthner, fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and siblings; Donna Mae (Jerry) Anderson, Raymond (Joyce) Korblick and Carol (Dan) Fink.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, infant son Michael, and his siblings, Jocelyn Biggs, Howard Leuthner, and Roy Leuthner.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Progressive Care Unit at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie, WI, for the heartfelt compassionate care to our father and family.

Mass of Christian Burial occurred at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie, WI, with Rev. John Mano officiating.

Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Visitation took place one hour before services at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of your choice are preferred.
